Would be curious to see how customers react if the price changes in the time it takes them to get to the counter. Or maybe they'd just update before opening the doors.

Aldi have had this in Europe for years, they look like they are printed plastic but occasionally you’ll see one glitch.

Aldi have not used this to introduce “surge pricing” just make it easier and lest wasteful to update prices.

Hopefully the dystopian corporate enshitification of retail, that is charging more for an ice cream on a hot day, stays as a failed American experiment.
