If the dam breaks those villagers are gonna have to learn to fly.

Better Learn to Fly though, just in case

Is it bad if I actually liked the original form more?

They built a dam for no other reason than to block the river so they could build a city in the river bed.

That's 1000iq city planning

[–] [email protected] 1 points 11 months ago

Weeellll tek-nik-uh-lee they might have built a town along the banks of a small river, dammed the valley blocking the river, and then filled in the old riverbed. But either way yeah those guys are dumb for staying there.

This meme template is gold. I haven't seen it before.

My first thought was why would you put a town at the bottom of a dam like that? And then I remembered that I grew up in a small town under a dam. That dam was on a fault line.

[–] [email protected] 9 points 11 months ago

'Cause the town came first. Town was built on the original river, which was later dammed for power/water reservoir for said town.

Yikes!

I admire the city planners’ confidence (or ignorance).

[–] [email protected] 5 points 11 months ago (1 children)

People always said that the dam could support double the most severe earthquake that the fault could produce, but who knows how true that is.

[–] AusatKeyboardPremi 1 points 11 months ago

Exactly. No matter how good or bad the odds are, that statement isn’t instilling confidence.
