Shrinkflation has handled this. My 20$ doesn't go nearly as far as it used to behind the Wendys dumpster.

Back in my day, 20$ was enough to make a man feel whole. Now your lucky to just get the tip for 20$. But hey, 20 bucks is 20 bucks, doesn't matter if I'm givin em or getting em.

We can't forget that apart from inflation, cost of living has also greatly increased. For example rent has nearly doubled since 2005, as such I advocate for $62 as the new "not gay" standard
