Six. Just six miles. Some fairly awful stats in that page, roads deaths far too high. At this rate I might see the A9 dualled by 2060

Great. Couldn't improve the train services so just keep adding lanes.

I'm not sure what that looks like actually. More passing places? It's so twisty to straighten for higher speeds would scar the highlands. A tunnel or two? It's rarely close to full due to expense, I'd like to see it rival at least bus pricing with some subsidies. Far cheaper than A9 upgrades, buy doesn't negate the need for A9 dualling imo

Yes, subsidise it, add more trains, and more passing places if required. Maybe improving the line would cause less scarring than broadening the road.
