American Senator Bernie Sanders has condemned both political parties for inviting Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu, who has been indicted by the ICC for war crimes in Gaza, to address a joint meeting of the United States Congress. Sanders declared that he will not attend the event.

AOC, Katy Porter, Ilhan Omar, a few others. But the list is short.

Sanders is the only Senator, I think. Warren was my preferred candidate for 2016, but unfortunately she's been toeing the party line about Gaza.

I've been wondering why I haven't been hearing her name in regard to Israel's fuckery. Duly noted and infinitely disappointed

Warren is a shit stain.

I'd absolutely love it if this was some elaborate plan to get him out of the country so he can be arrested.

I know it won't, but hey, I'm a dreamer!

You wouldn't want your countries government to operate with such level of illegitimacy. That's how we ended up with the term "Banana Republic".

Democrats making no longer supporting them easier and easier.

[–] PunnyName 2 points 4 months ago (3 children)

Who you gonna support? Considering Sanders is a Democrat.

[–] blazera 6 points 4 months ago

Technically independent. Tho who knows how much longer he'll be around to support. Probably green party, we just need a progressive option in general.

A war criminal addressing a joint meeting of the US Congress? What is this the State of the Union?

[–] [email protected] 5 points 4 months ago

Our leaders are also war criminals, so its not really anything new for us.

I don't think an indictment or arrest warrant has actually been issued against Netanyahu at this time. On May 20 a prosecutor filed an application an application to issue such an indictment, but this application has neither been accepted nor denied.

Fortunately, we don’t need it to be accepted to know that the democrats should feel ashamed for doing this. I don’t expect the republicans have that capacity.
