Yea, needs contrasting colors, not all one shade. Could go from a color you see at the ground like green, to the color of the sky, blue.

Iirc this correlates to the bed rock distribution depth. I seem to recall a side by side at some point in my browsing over the years.

To at least some extent for sure — and if you see Manhattan’s skyline from the east or the west, there are actually two skylines: one downtown and another in Midtown. There are very few tall buildings along 23rd Street.
