I never really preorder games but did many PC to boardgame conversions work out great? I heard that there is a terraria bg coming. I believe there is also stardew valley but I am not sure how fun it is to play. Same goes for This war of mine or Civilization.

I also usually never pre-order games. But I am a really big fan of Dead Cells already, and both the publisher AND the developer team seemed to be very convinced about the team creating the board game. I guess they wouldn't have given permission to use their IP. Both the enthusiasm of Evil Empire, Motion Twin and the board game studio, as well as the well received campaign convinced me to give them my money :D
I very rarely kickstart board games (I let my friends do that lol). I kick started Dead Cells mainly because I've wanted a good coop Roguelik/te board game for a while that's actually fun to play. It looks like they put a lot of thought into the game systems fun and unique and it's not just an attempt to 1:1 make a roguelike that won't translate well because no one ones to get together to repeat the exact same content over and over.
That and I absolutely love Dead Cells.
Hot damn, Dead Cells is among my most played games of all time. It's such a fanatstic game. I'd love to see the aesthetics used and the feel of the game brought to life in a board game.
I'm not someone to preorder (or kickstarter) anything. I'll get it once it is out. But visually it looks super cool already from the campaign pictures.
