Got this from a post on the alien site. From previous discussion on Lemmy it sounded like Linux users had good things to say about this game but were discouraged about the upcoming FaceIt implementation such that they wouldn't be able to join anticheat enabled matches. Those users and Linux gamers on the fence would probably appreciate hearing this news.

With this announcement on the dev team's community Discord, it appears Linux users will NOT lose access to matches with anticheat.

For a second I read the Fascist anticheat.

Apparently you're not far off.

FaceIt supposedly installs drivers that run 24/7 on your PC, and if you disable the service on startup you can't play until you change the setting and reboot. Maybe you could manually stop and start the service when you want to play? Anyway that's an uninstall from me dawg

Glad they're actively trying to support it, as a linux gamer

I'll believe it when I see it. The game has been 100% borked for me. I actually got in a game after trying it over and over again but I think that was a glitch where the anticheat's Linux check just didn't happen.

I've played over 20 hours on Linux since release, and many more in the beta. It definitely works. Do you have the EAC runtime installed?
