I think it's more of an NDA thing and less of a don't know thing since you know he is the CEO of the company behind Helldivers 2

If he is bound by an NDA he should probably stop talking all together. He's just making himself look bad.

It's likely not an NDA but some complex contract, plenty of CEO's are vocal on the internet, it's kind of part of their job.

Yeah, probably not an NDA, more like a complicated contact where he agrees not to disclose certain things. Well, maybe not a contact specifically, just an agreement. To not disclose... You know...

Speaking candidly about business negotiations can harm a good working relationship if you say the wrong thing. You also don't want to say anything that could be perceived as badmouthing the people that hold the keys to your success. He's likely just trying to be careful while being as transparent as possible.

If his business relationship with Sony doesn't consist exclusively of active hostility then he has failed his staff and shareholders.

He is trying to give the impression that he is not in control. Which might be true.
