Do you toggle your dark mode a lot? My phone lives on dark mode so I don't really care if it took a few clicks to set it that one time.
However, if you only have it on dark at night, I can see that the switching inefficiency would get annoying quickly.
I agree that automatic (but with an override) would be the best way.
I have most apps set to turn dark at sunset and light at sunrise (set by the system). It would be nice if Joplin followed system theme, but even if it just took less taps that would be great
