I always found it surprising that so few know that July 2 is the real independence day.

It wasn’t legally official until the 4th which is why that’s the day.

Juneteenth is a holiday even though slavery officially ended before then

The entire purpose of Juneteenth is because of that disparity.

This is a weird comparison my dude.

Philly wanting to celebrate the day the declaration was approved in a closed session makes sense, but the 4th has been the day since the beginning. It’s when it was approved and made official.
