This is a community for art in any medium. Welcome!

Rules:

  1. This is a community to discuss all things related to art. Posts should be relevant to art, such as sharing art or news about art. To clarify, when we say "any medium," this includes media such as painting, film, music, literature, performance, video games, etc.
  2. Keep things civil. Critiquing art is fine but attacking other users for their opinions is not.
  3. Avoid excessive self-promotion. Yes, this is subjective and will be based on how popular this community becomes overall. If you can see a post about your own work on the first few pages, don't post another.
  4. Follow site-wide rules

Facebook, but also and really actually reddit.

thedonald was a pipeline for converting disenfranchised white males into white nationalists and was super effective.

I’d blame Facebook more than Reddit, but really a lot of the blame lies with 8chan(kun) and the Qanon BS. Of course, this Q bs festered and spread on Facebook.

And, of course, at the time Twitter was Trump’s main bull horn, so that was a major driver as well.

By the time Jan 6 happened, TheDonald was long gone from Reddit.

The_Donald was banned but its community of festering pustules was not at all gone from Reddit- they are all still there and some even here.

I'm not discounting those locations 💯, but the MAGA cult movement 100% had it's origins on Reddit in a turf war between progressives and the alt right. I was there. I watched the entire thing happen, how it folded, when the bots appeared, and on and on.

I believe church's and the prosperity doctrine had a role.

This is gonna be such a bad movie, walk and talks about algorithms that make no sense at all, and every time a woman speaks she is mansplained to dust for the audacity to dare to talk to a man.

TL;DR he blames Facebook because the algorithm promotes that crap.

You mean the same Aaron Sorkin who butchered the Chicago seven story?

I am reminded of these supercuts. Might be a preview to some of the new movie, we’ll see!

Why is this in the art community? Ok, I guess movies are art, but this feels like a stretch. This is news, politics, etc.

I just kinda decided to make my own rules because this community doesn’t have any, but film is definitely an art form. As someone who has read over a century’s worth of film theory, it’s as legit as any other visual medium

Can he find some glasses that fit his head? That can't feel comfortable, I have had small glasses and dealt with them for a year until I was due for new ones, never again.
