I mean, this is what I do. Buying entirely new parts is expensive, and there's just so much stuff sitting around or waiting to be "e-wasted" (which is codename for landfill) that's perfectly capable of still being useful. Just put in a cheap SSD and don't put windows on it and you've got PC's servers for days.
