Oh, does it mean I can finally link to users/communities outside of my main instance? It's the one thing I really hate about Lemmy.

It uses your instance to search and give suggestions. It does mean the suggestions won't work for communities or users in instances blocked by the instance of your current account. Give it a try.

Type @ then start typing something.
