I tried a few reverse image searches (below) with no luck. Closest thing I found is Cockcroft–Walton generator

I am guessing those are Cockcroft-Walton accelerators and that is the first stage of a larger particle accelerator. The pools on the right might provide some clue. They could be there for cooling or radiation shielding, or both.

That's exactly what I've been thinking of. 😅 Great movie, one of my favorites. Maybe they drew some inspiration from the real science guys?

I'd say a High Voltage Laboratory at first glance but this looks like a more permanent installation.

ik I'm late, but this looks like an electrical substation (picrel as a refference) to me, just that it's indoors and probably built specificly for another installation

EDIT: I just saw the AC sticker on it, which would support my theory
