While the study was conducted on the model worm C. elegans โ€“ a microscopic nematode that, admittedly, doesn't have quite the same fat-storage concerns that we do โ€“ the researchers believe the kombucha metabolic effects will likely be observed in humans.

...yea I kinda feel like "in microscopic worms" should probably in the title somewhere.

I feel like you could drop a table spoon of lard into a kombucha drink and see how much is left after a day, my Guess would be a table spoon.

More likely it encourages your gut biome to more readily break down fats, than actively breaking them down itself.
