Wow… this is a comical degree of self-sabotage. This is the one of the dumbest hills GM could have picked to die on. My sister and her husband were thinking about getting one of these, and I think they might rule it out simply based on this.

MODERATORS
The Honda/Acura EVs will be Ultium but will still have CarPlay. Perhaps that would be a solution for them.
I haven't purchased a GM product in decades. They're just making their mediocre products even less appealing.
I have an android and am not affected by this but this still sounds incredibly stupid. There are 2 on the market, why would you not want to have them both? Especially when it's been done before and it's a good chunk of potential buyers.
They’re also removing Android Auto. CarPlay just gets mentioned because it’s better known and/or more buyers might use it (though I don’t know that personally).
