__some__guy: Hi, I'm pretty sure my Quest 2 screen is broken, but since I haven't used VR since the DK2, I wanted to ask before replacing it.

Picture is from the left lens and not visible when I only use my right eye.

The black shape is also surrounded by colored pixels and there's a thin bright line going up from the center.

This is 100% a defect, right?

__some__guy: So no weird plastic that could be behind the lens?

I just got it today, so I can still easily return it.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 7 months ago

aevi: Yeah return it. Something damaged the screen for sure.

Virtual_Happiness: It's definitely some sort of defect. Swap it.

porcelainfog: Sun damage. You let the sun hit the lense. RIP

[–] [email protected] 1 points 7 months ago (1 children)

Nix_Nivis: I say this looks similar to sun damage, but the shape is curious. Not a ("sun shaped") dot or a trace, but this triangle. More like something got really burning hot near that corner of the display. I call hardware defect on this one.

Virtual_Happiness: > I call hardware defect on this one.

Same. I have seen lots of sun damage it's never looked like this. This looks like a defect.

__some__guy: Idk, headset came directly from Amazon in a sealed box.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 7 months ago

porcelainfog: Oh that’s weird then. Send it back

[–] [email protected] 1 points 7 months ago

Embarrassed-Ad7317: It's either the sun, or a sword. Which of them have more access?

Jk of course
