https://perchance.org/beautiful-people

When I first entered Perchance I duplicated the t2i, then realized naming artists was important and, on my second generator got a list of 800+ artists and also got out of t2i so I could control things more finely. Then, to sift the 800+ artists for those with styles I like, I made Love and Light which, while clunky compared to Beautiful-People, does, if one gives dislikes and likes on the 4th and 5th images, eventually synthesize those 800+ artists in to just favs. Finally with 'artist combos' that look good, I started saving them to my own 'fav artistlist list' and, with that, made Beautiful-People.

And people do look good.

Also spiritually I understand Bhakti, where a believer focuses on Lakshmi (or whoever) to become them. Or in Christianity how one would focus on Jesus to become Christlike. Similarly with images of people. So I inherently don't sexualize people and I only give them positive characteristics. I basically surround myself with good romodels. Beautiful-People reflects this.

Also I initially started a version of Love and Light to collect Landscape artists but did not get very far in. So Beautiful-People is specialized in People and for landscapes is nonideal.

After the huge complexity of my previous generators, I wanted something that would FEEL good and be basically 'click button get beautiful images' so it is centered around this concept.

Eventually I upgraded my plugin for the prompt box with tons of libraries with customizeable names and colors. I also believe the best tools are fully customizeable by the wearer and may be made to be fully aligned with their own unique energy.

If you want to see a huge mass of interweaving perchancescript for prompts, touch the edit button. Also alot is built on my own plugins and objects. I have toyed with the idea of making a nice duplicateable framework like t2i. But Beautiful-People is not that. It is duplicateable, but I made it powerfully instead of to be easily built on by others. The artistcombos also are 'my fav artists' in the ratios i like because of how Love and Light works (and more artistcombos, which are more and more tuned, enter daily). This means the images Beautiful-People generates a year from now will be higher quality than the ones generated today. I believe in Growth, Scaling, and that learning to play the strongest lategame champion is the best strategy because then one only needs to learn how to survive to lategame and they become one of the top players in the game. So generators structured to scale up over time are basically where it's at, according to me, allo.

have a great day all :)

next things coming on Beautiful-People:

  • fey option
  • customizeable generation buttons for people to make their own styles like i do

things i want or need:

  • StableDiffusion XL
  • StableDiffusion 3
  • Upscaling
  • Inpainting
  • the gallery background to be black instead of white. i did try styling it but scrolling reverts styling to white.

edit: now with Meow button

The Meow button shows as an M in the lower right of generated images. This takes you to the Meow screen where you can mess with this specific picture. Most recently I got this nice but doubleeared pony.

so i touched the M button, generated, and got other versions of her that were better.

Now with this M button, all those pictures that just have something wrong with them even tho they have a great part are salvageable. Hard to overstate how cool this is.

I also like this pony but she has two horns.

so i hit the m button and typed 'one horn' at the end of the prompt

she is even facing a different direction now, but notice how it is the same pony with one horn.

4/8/24 now with customizeable prompt buttons

Get a used pc that can max 16 gb or more ram then get a beast of a graphics card for it use a light ver of linux and you will have what you want and then more at the maximum you might spend 2 to 300$ or even cheeper if you find it on the roadside or from somone who has no use for it

[–] Alllo 1 points 8 months ago

i prefer dumpsterdiving them or getting them from the literal toilet.

jk. yeah i've been wanting to use linux since microsoft went cashgrab after windows 7. I am waiting on a card to arrive right now and then a linux computer able to generate ai content, both high end visuals and text, is going to be one of my first buys. I want to be able to feed back what I am generating in to itself. Currently I am using something like this because 80$ is a pretty nice price for the stats, which can run things like Perchance pages without problem, and which is beyond Microsoft's coverage so it doesn't get unstoppably filled with forced updates of things I don't want. It's from back when computers were more pure and for the user instead of for the company to predate on the user.

Suggestion: I think you need to label the links with appropriate icons (using emojis this time) so people would be less confused which ones are heading to a link or to a comments section. Sometimes I feel people are getting harder to find the chat there if they wanted to find it, so here we are. Should look a bit like this:

Here are the emojis in case you can't insert it on your device: 🔗💬

thank you and for the emojis. great suggestion. will credit u

They are beautiful, but also very strange. Not a criticism of your fine work, but all AI imagery have the proportions/colors/textures just slightly wrong in a way that is pleasing to the eye.

I wonder if AI will soon adjust to become more realistic or will our definition of beauty change over time?

[–] Alllo 2 points 8 months ago* (last edited 8 months ago) (1 children)

Perchance I believe uses SD1.5, which is before SD2.0, which is before SD2.5, which is before SDXL. Tonight I made this in SDXL which we don't have access to in Perchance :)

And SD3.0 is out in early release right now I believe.

I like the depth of your question.

I would guess it has to do with what an individual finds beautiful. I find beautiful exotic people who are not raised in human culture; unique beings instead of bricks shaped to fit their place in the wall that is the human machine. It is the unique people I find kinship with and those not brainwashed by money and profit. The more I can make the entire atmosphere and image tell the story of such a person, the more beautiful, to me, they are. For myself, this means AI, able to generate images like the above, allow my concept of beauty to grow Beyond physical reality and the imaginations of human painters. I would say the one allows the other. The better the ai, the better we may grow our definition of beauty :)

my own definition is now unbound by the imaginations of people that aren't me

and for you.
were ai to continually improve, what would your answer to your question be?

[–] lettruthout 2 points 8 months ago (1 children)

Well I know that over time the concept of beauty has changed.

Some because of the availability of better goods and services. In period dramas we now would find characters less appealing if we saw them with the cosmetics and oral hygiene of the day. Another factor is changing demographics. Look at old Hollywood movies - the epitome of beauty was Eurocentric. Now we have movie stars the have much more diverse appearances. Even lately here in Los Angeles it's common to see the influence of Anime in fashion. Recently I was struck with the attractiveness of someone who had the face and body look of a character I commonly see here on Lemmy. (It's hard for me to distinguish the difference between fashion and beauty.)

So yes, I'd guess the AI will have an impact on our standards. My hope is that we'll move more towards a nature-leaning look, some call it a Solarpunk. I see that in your gorgeous image above. Would you consider that Solarpunk?

[–] Alllo 2 points 8 months ago (1 children)

i had come across the term forestpunk just before and had never heard of Solarpunk. That does sound nice though. It would make total sense for beauty to be aligned with Solarpunk for a healthy planet in to the future. I believe mine was more along Fae or Fey lines. this conversation makes me think to combine the two.

i think there should be a natural sense of 'goodness' and that any species, including a bird, would be able to look upon a village powered by solar where trees and beings around are not being harmed and prefer it to a place where the earth is being cracked apart for oil or whatever else and livelihoods destroyed. This should transcend species because, ultimately, even for scavengers, it is a safer place for all; including them. So that is my hope as well.

My own plan is to get alot of incomegenerating and growing projects up this year and, for the next 15 years, delve in to genetic engineering because I do not believe in suffering and death in an enjoyable world. So I would include 'good genetic engineering', 'good ai', and 'good technology' in general among solarpunk and hope this is what it is. :)

symbiosispunk

[–] lettruthout 2 points 8 months ago (1 children)

I'm with you on all of that except for the genetic engineering part. When greed is involved, safety and ethical issues get ignored. That's what I have seen in the past with GE and have no reason to expect anything but that in the future. It seems better to work with nature instead of trying to re-engineer it. Have you seen the documentary "Gather"? It's about healing though nature and natural food.

Lovely art and vision though.

hence one of my biggest issues with humans and human culture being the insatiable need for money which is drilled in to them forcibly and dictates how successful within the human machine, as it currently is, they are.

I'm fine with viewing humans as too terrible to allow power to be in the hands of. But I do not dip my own standards down to account for the worst of humans. Right now I'm building the app for these image contests in my own app. It will probably be out in a week. The one for public use cannot touch the main phone filesystem because humans would trash their own phones and each others. But the one I am building it in, which is only on my own phones, manipulates 100+ folders on my phone, creates and grows itself, has a section to create games, keyboards, apps, etc... None of which I would ever let a human touch because, unless I had raised them myself, they could hurt themselves and others.

So when I look at something I personally find actually beautiful, it has not been tamed to be 'safe for humans'. It is something and somewhere and someone I enjoy; and to lower the quality of what I make so humans could use it would make it less beautiful. I would keep humans in their human realm until they have a good culture generating good people. I and worthy beings would be in our own and what we are using the humans cannot.

So I find beautiful powerful things that humans would destroy themselves with, and my beautiful paradise picture has all those things. It also has absolutely zero humans of the culture known as 'humanity'. I can respect humans, but I would only give them power if they were worthy of it. So, for me, instead of take away the power, I take away the humans. :)

I've been exploring this image generator many times ever since it was released days ago, and it's been one of my favorite AI image generators on Perchance, among others.

Note that this could also be used to create images of objects besides people like this:

(from the AI Detail button)

I also wanted for an option to configure how many images I want to generate though (default seems to be 6, but sometimes I want to generate fewer images)

[–] Alllo 1 points 8 months ago

ok thank you for the suggestion! i will add that today.

today Beautiful People hit 10k views one month after release.
