That plus printing all that money gave corps the opportunity to overinflate prices requiring rates to climb with their greed. Lots of wiggle room to lower rates when people start to get sad that their money doesn’t work like it used to

Does Jerome Powell have a PHD in economics?

Jerome Powell is not an economist. Powell received has BA in Politics, and a JD in Law. For most of his early career, Powell worked as a corporate attorney. He moved into investment banking, working mostly on financial deals. (Oct 26, 2023)
