I want to mirror my YouTube channel somewhere. Im looking for something like PeerTube but only for a single channel. Does that exist?

Nothing stopping you from making a PeerTube just for your channel. It's functionally no different, and later if you want extra channels you can just make them. I have a single user Lemmy, works great!

You'll struggle to find single user software. You need a way to log in anyway, so why not make it multi-user? I've written loads of software that only ever had one user account (mine). It's basically free, and even freer in modern frameworks because it's usually already there because most projects needs that, so it's built-in.

This. I run a single user peertube. Https://peertube.giftedmc.com

I also started with a single channel, now there are three for viewer-convenience sake.

The important part is that it uses ap and federates with mastodon and (partly) lemmy. You can get comments from mastodon.

Sidenote Instead of making new stuff, please consider helping the things that exist. You can always fork them if you dont like the dev’s approach. I feel like one reason why FOSS (and therefore direct democracy) hasn't already taken over the world is because we cant be bothered to use whats there - or help with something - but need „ours“ which is incredibly inefficient and selfish.

The guy behind faircamp is working on a similar approach to videos: https://simonrepp.com/hyper8/

A static site generator for videos.

No reason it can't exist. I'm not super familiar with the program, but for a couple bucks you can run it on elest
