I might want to keep subscriptions separate between instances (although an option to move some/all subs to a different instance would be handy).

Block lists would be better if they were applied globally accross all accounts and instances. User, community and hopefully one day soon, entire instance block lists would be great to share, if a user wanted.

Like a lot of people, I signed up to lemmy.world after RIF suggested I check it out but I've since set up a second account in a closer instance. I like the ability to swap between accounts and keep some things separate but having some things sync would be ideal.

If this is implemented, I’d like it to be a user preference. I explicitly have different block lists on my two accounts to keep adult content on one account while allowing NSFW posts on the other.

It would absolutely need to be a user preference, I agree.

Remember you can disable all NSFW content in settings instead of blocking them.

Right, but then I won’t see a meme someone marked NSFW because it says fuck. That’s annoying.

half solution - theres a tool called LASIM for exporting all of your Lemmy profile settings including blocks and subs

if you were to use it to download your profile, edit the downloaded list to remove all your subscriptions, and then upload it to your other instance account, that would probably work

Worth looking in to, thanks for the suggestion

Blocking is handled on the server side at this point.

Would be best to just use the tool linked by the other commenter

That'd be fine if that tool worked on mobile. Having this built in to the voyager app on mobile would be great
