Mabuhay at maligayang pag-alis sa Lemmy! ✈️

An abandoned community for the Philippines and all things Filipino! 🇵🇭

Started out as a Reddit alternative during the blackout from Jun 12-21, 2023 with over 1k members in just a few days. Fizzled faster than the "I Didn't Do It" kid after a month until it became the internet's Centralia in less than a year.

I just glanced at a newspaper in a coffee shop a few minutes ago. Apparently, the vessels left after their bullying was seen around the world.

What do you think about that?

They've already achieved their objective and staying there after it's made international news is just counterproductive.

They will return or focus on other areas. It's not limited to that one area nor will it stop just because they've been found out. The endgame is to whittle us down, or that we give up--and they wear us down anyways.

This is kind of sad. I’m just hoping they’d stop permanently. They already got an island that they added an airplane runway.

They won't be content with an island or two. They are to make the entire sea under their control for their own strategic reasons: securing their own ports and keeping enemies (practically everyone but themselves) out.

Ultimately, their aim is to break the cordon that is formed by Taiwan, Japan, the Philippines, Malaysia, and Indonesia so that they can project power in the Pacific.

Perhaps another goal is to turn us (the island nations I just mentioned) into vassal states (with the exception of Taiwan which they will [re]take outright). That way, they'd have a buffer against anyone who wants to take them on.
