They're setting the politicians up as oppressive rulers beholden only to each other, rather than democratically elected representatives of the people.

Alternatively, every four years the loser will encite a mob, leading to them saying that elections are too dangerous, therefore revoked.

There is no good outcome unless trump is held accountable and goes to jail. They've had four years to prosecute him and have failed to do so.

I wonder if they've contemplated that in the new government to come they are quite likely to decide that a Supreme Court isn't necessary?
