Traitor republican assholes see the noose coming soon and they are desperate to avoid it, even at the cost of every bit of their feigned patriotism. Even if Trump did somehow win the Presidency, he'd only stab them in the back. Republicans aren't capable of this enlightened self-interest because they're too busy pissing themselves in fear of the eternal fiery damnation they know they will soon be thrown into.
