So I replied to a comment in a thread the bot posted over in one of the television communities, but I noticed tonight when I was viewing that community in Memmy all of the threads the bot was posting appeared to be empty. Just the title, and the info about where the original post came from and who posted it, but otherwise, pretty useless. I wondered if it was a mistake from the bot or the client I was using, so I tried it over on wefwef, and I saw the links there.

So I guess I don’t know if there’s a bug in how Memmy displays the content, or a bug with how the bot posts, or if it’s just an inconsistency or whatever, but I thought someone might want to know to make some changes.

I'm not sure what you mean, do you have a link and/or screenshot? If it only happens in a specific client, it's probably an issue with that client.

I think it is just how this client decides to handle links combined with the weird situation of what’s happening. Mostly what I was talking about was the television community here where the cross post was just a discussion that started on Reddit and the bot cross posted over here. It’s not immediately obvious that the blurb of text wasn’t posted by and thus replies won’t be read by a human. For some reason I feel weirded out by responding here to an OP that won’t read my reply but I guess discussion is discussion and that’s the whole point of trying to build this new community.

As far as cross posts with links to websites, when you click on the comments section the link is just not available to click on. That’s probably a decision with how Memmy chooses to handle the available information though, as I can hit back and go out to the main page and click on the external link from there. But last night I was a bit confused when I was clicking on the comments section as I normally do, seeing no comments, and then not seeing a link that I could click on to even start a discussion here. I don’t know if the solution here is to have the bot repost a link to the article within the body of the post, or work with the developer of Memmy to make sure that the link is available from within the comments section. I guess I posted here so you would know that at least this one app (and quite possibly others) is handing your content in a way that isn’t very friendly to users. Maybe you want to change something up, maybe you just want to let them deal with it, maybe it’s not a big deal to anyone.
