The best way to know what happens in a book... Is to keep reading
1984
Literally 1984
Post whatever you like, but make sure to follow the rules. No thoughtcrimes.
The bot is very literal. "This" includes "is".
THIS WEEK'S RULES:
- Read this, and give your thoughts.
- No posting.
Big Brother is watching you.

Hi just letting you know, this community isn't actually about the book. Rather, it's an experiment to see how people can and will post when moderated by a strict bot with arbitrary rules (which has been malfunctioning which is why you managed to slip through the week-long banhammer).
That doesn't mean discussion of the book isn't allowed here, just letting you know that it's not the primary intent of the community. I'd encourage anyone wishing to discuss the book try to also make their post fit the rules, as seen in the sidebar.

In terms of what to look forward to in the book, it's a very bleak story. A very fascinating read however, it's best to go in without spoilers I'd say. Keep reading.
I read it a while back. I don't remember the diary but it fits the story and the character to do so.
Look forward to a good story. It's quite dark but if you came this far, you already know.
