Great read. It's a totally valid strategy to ask for the incumbent to step aside 7 months before the vote to give others a shot. I'm sure with seven months they can do a lot of prep to win a national election. If the sarcasm isn't coming through, I'll just say it, this guy is a fucking moron. We've had four years to have this discussion and we've tiptoed around it because no one wants to upset the status quo. February of the election year should be about strategizing against the other candidates, not infighting and waffling on support. If you want another candidate, great, they can run in 2028.

Yeah, this. So tired of these people doing last minute hand-wringing and so on to posture as some kind of "principles". If McRapey gets back into office, they'll be able to stand back and tell everyone (not that it matters, most especially if donnie's supporters get what they want - they won't have a platform to tell everyone this and many people that they might want to gloat over might be in mortal danger) that, "oh, I told you guys!". If McRapey doesn't win, they can still pretend like they had some kind of principled stand and they just float above it all.
