So Iโ€™m seeing a lot of people saying their comments after deleting are coming back. I had the same issue till I remembered an app called Redact. It does install on your computer and can be used for multiple social media sites. But in the case of Reddit I had it edit every comment I ever said to โ€œ fuck u/spezโ€ it does add that it was done with redact in comment as well if that is an issue for anyone. But with the API changes this still works.

Hope this helps anyone trying to migrate from Reddit and not give their accounts away with out a fight .

Redact couldn't log me in for some reason. It just showed a white screen in the popup. Reddit Delete Suite ended up being my solution, specifically the "fork" (code modified from the original) that had a 5 second delay since edits are now rate-limited. It installs as a bookmark from github but I'm not sure if that actually still works? Was it dependent on the api? I know it asked permission like RES but don't know what that really means

It should work as it's using your profile

I used a Grease Monkey script that replaces your comments with random characters, then deletes them. There are tons of variants of it if you just search for 'Reddit delete comments'. The version I use also deletes posts. All freea and no software install necessary (other than Grease Monkey).

I tried it. Told me to log in with Reddit, it did and at the first log in attempt it said "You're doing that too much. Try again in 9 minutes"
