Bought and built the kit from keebd.com

  • Cherry brown switches
  • Helios rp2040 controller
  • Temporarily using caps from my Keychton K6 (unfortunately the profile makes it a little weird looking) while waiting for new ones to arrive.

Does you keymap match the keycaps?

Mostly. The key map is this one https://github.com/qmk/qmk_firmware/tree/master/keyboards/contra/keymaps/basic

The letters are all correct, along with the arrow keys and the fn1 and fn2 keys. Not a big deal for me though, just the aesthetics are affected.

Ha, I had the same thing with keycaps when I got my board? Did you find a nice set?

I bought a cheap set of transparent keys and I'll see how that goes. Seems to be difficult to find cheap XDA profile keycaps or I'm not good at searching.

First time using 40% so didn't want to put too much money into it anyway, just in case I hated it.
