Four years seems like an awful long lead up time. Why not sooner?

The UAW negotiated a shared April 30, 2028 expiration date for all three contracts with the big 3 automakers. I think the idea is to campaign for other unions to also negotiate for their contract expiration dates to fall on the same day.

There's not as many unionized workers in the US as you would want for a general walk out strike. The last time I checked, our workforce was about 10% unionized, which just won't affect the economy enough to get Medicare for All or a 25$ minimum wage like he wants.
