Strange Cargo 3 is the third album in William Orbit's Strange Cargo series. It was released in 1992 and features a mix of electronica, ambient, and world music. The album was a critical and commercial success, reaching number 12 in the UK charts.

The album's title is a reference to the cargo cult phenomenon, which is a belief that by imitating the actions of technologically advanced cultures, one can achieve similar results. Orbit has said that he was inspired by the cargo cult phenomenon, and he wanted to create an album that was a "cargo cult of electronica."

The album features a variety of guest musicians, including Beth Orton, Divine Bashim, and Jah Wobble. The album also features a number of unusual instruments, such as the theremin, the sitar, and the kora.
