All I need are 4 oz hummingbird feeders. I change the nectar often, and typically have one dominate reside male that constantly chases off other hummingbirds, so I don't have swarms of birds visiting me.

It has a perch which is nice for both the bird and me to view the bird. It is the best design for cleaning - I no longer have to use mascara wands, bottle brushes, or soak my feeders in vinegar or a bleach solution. It's plastic so if I drop it - it doesn't shatter. It is more pricey than some other feeders, but IMO the best choice. I feel like many people only need a 4 oz feeder. but ASPECTS offer bigger feeders with a similar design.

I did color in the flowers with a sharpie because the birds were struggling to find the holes. - That's the only issue I had with these feeders. Still the best feeder and only feeder that I will use for my hummies.

I don't make a commission from these links. I am just a fan of the product, and do not know the vendors.

What hummingbird feeder do you use? Do you think your feeders design is the best?

Just this year we’ve gotten turned on to feeding the hummingbirds. It’s a blast.

We use a very similar one, and it’s great for viewing! It says 16 oz, but it really holds closer to 8-12 oz. Link below (not a referral or anything).

I use straw cleaners rather than mascara wands, but that’s probably because I’m a non-mascara-wearing person. Fortunately I haven’t had to do that deep of a clean since adding the ant moat on top, though.

This one is very pretty. Does the sun ever hit it right so the colors illuminate?

It does look somewhat more difficult to clean than the ASPECTS hummblossom but not as difficult as some other designs.

Thanks! Unfortunately not too many rays hit it just right. There is enough sun through the trees to charge the solar light in the top though, so it’s quite nice to see glowing colors at night.

The good part for cleaning this one is that the there are rubber grommets between the metal flowers and glass vase. It all separates nicely.

As I’m a hummingbird feeder noob, what makes the other types of feeders harder to clean? I’m assuming you mean the big “top down” style ones, yeah?

It's just really important to make sure the feeder is disinfected, and mold free because black mold can harm/kill the hummies. Using a bottle brush doesn't adequately reach every crevice of a feeder, so soaking them in vinegar/bleach solution/hydrogen peroxide is important since it's the best some feeders can do to get disinfected. The hummblossom can be cleaned and scrubbed with a sponge in every crevice. If someone can not see/reach inside a feeder, they can not be certain that it's free of mold spores.

I'm stuck on the ones that have the ability to make a "pool" in the cap, due to ants walking down to try and drink the nectar.

The ASPECTS 8oz hummblossom has an ant moat built into it. but I have separate ant moats for the 4 oz ones. I put some vegetable oil in with the water to help it not evaporate so quickly.
