This is my teapot. It's about 1.5L and has a forward handle for the wrist crushing weight of it. It's a monster, made in America. Sadly I dropped the lid a year ago, and have been using a bowl to cover it, which clatters and makes a hell of a noise from the steam.

Is there a better way? Anywhere that sells lids? Failing that, share your ersatz teapot lids.

I broke the lid from my wedding gift teapot (20+ years old). Denby didn't do the exact model any more, but gave me a good enough replacement, free!

Won't help your predicament, but just wanted to shout out denby for awesome customer service!

I'll remember the name if this one breaks. Thanks!

See if you have a local pottery near you that could make a new lid to fit.

This seems like a very middle class response. Pottery? I don't think I've ever seen one. Is that something that exists in the Cotswolds?

I'm a big fan of middle class ideals. Just have a look on Google maps, there's more around than you might expect.

It would probably look nice with a cork lid if you're willing to make one

This might be my favourite idea actually. Thanks!

Have you tried contacting the manufacturer? They might be able to sell you a replacement or at least point you in the right direction.

Thanks, it's totally unmarked and made in another country or I'd definitely try. I did have a decade old Stanley thermos cap go bad and they replaced the whole thing. Really good to see that mindset in manufacturing.
