Compensation update: Boston and Dallas will each receive two second-round picks in the deal.

That's... not a lot for the Celtics...

Getting something would have been nice, but as much as I would have liked Grant back, we couldn't afford that price. Even without him we're spending so much on guys in front of him that it's just not viable. Tatum/Brown/Porzingis is 100 next year, and Brogdon/White/Rob is another 50. Jaylen is the only guy who doesn't have a comparable cap hit the next year as well, and not keeping him if it's remotely possible is a fireable offense.

Keeping the flexibility we could out of the deal was probably the best we could do. I like Grant, and he's a serviceable matchup defender, but I'm not sure he's an every day lockdown guy. He's a good catch and shoot corner 3 player on offense and very little else. Who's beating down the door with a better offer?

yes on one hand we couldn't afford keep to Grant in the team cap-wise, and on the other Brad didn't see anything better. Still was hoping for more meaningful return, but I guess it is what it is 🤷‍♂️

Yeah... 2nd rounders and create a $7M TPE isn't really a great return. But considering they were wanting a first for a sign and trade, I guess they had to accept whatever the market actually gave.

Doesn't feel like a great return for Boston. That's Obi Toppin value.

Mavs are having a nice off season.

Wowowo, Nico is making some moves! Now if the Mavs can flip THJ + McGee for a center, the roster will be looking great.

Was not expecting this. Good pickup for the Mavs

Weak sauce. Sorry GW, loved your physicality on a team that needed it. Good luck!

All Dallas needs is a starting center and maybe that Thybulle signing to push through and they're ready to rock and roll.
