Calvin and Hobbes but with significantly less Hobbes

For anyone who doesn’t “get it”, I’m not promising this series will make sense or even be funny. Garfield without Garfield is amusing (sometimes), so I wondered about Calvin and Hobbes, but how it might be in reality. Hobbes will only ever appear as a stuffed animal and will not be mentioned by name.

I'm working through “Homicidal Psycho Jungle Cat” and will be including the page number in the title (at least until I get bored of this).

You can find the full book in PDF form here: https://ia801007.us.archive.org/1/items/3.yukonho/9.%20Homicidal%20Psycho%20Jungle%20Cat.pdf

The page numbers I'm using as reference don't quite line up because I'm using a physical book as reference, but it's pretty close.

Hope you...enjoy?

I like the idea. The placement of stuffed Hobbes is sometimes questionable (stuffed animals don't jump in fright). Also the fact that he's always facing exactly the same way is a bit unnerving.

Get hyped for Monday, I'm showing off my 2nd Hobbes model AND proving that I can flip an image :P

Just found this little experiment and it seems interesting! It's kind of cute imo to see Calvin interacting with a toy like kids do.

One thing I think is an odd choice though is removing Hobbes' name entirely. If the point is that it's looking in on Calvin playing with his stuffed animal, he'd still refer to it by name, as all kids do with their toys and imaginary friends.

Either way you go, though, this is a neat project. Thanks for sharing and I'm looking forward to your further posts!

I appreciate the feedback, I went back and forth on removing his name. I decided to because it’s a story about Calvin and his tiger, but with my changes, the story is really only about Calvin.

Gotcha. That makes sense!
