British writer and showrunner Steven Moffat believes the UK needs its own version of The West Wing, and he’s prepared to write it.

While I'd be interested to see what Moffat would come up with, I'm not convinced it can be replicated. The West Wing was such a perfect mix of everything - cast, writing, timing, etc. It was lightning in a bottle that'll be nigh impossible to match. Even Sorkin never got there with Studio 60 or Newsroom. I love both shows, but they never got to the same level as TWW, particularly in popularity.

Writing it is one thing, finding such a perfect cast again would be the real challenge.
