I can't remember the exact route, but I usually pass quarry junction and then run along the left side of Black Mountain, you can usually sneak past most Deathclaws this way (and lose the ones you can't sneak past on the slopes of the mountain).

After that disguise yourself as NCR, take the monorail and you can get to Benny in like 10 minutes.
