I missed this part, and I was wrong in calling it a "vote":

‌ ... While personally I feel that any theoretical pros are by far outweighed by cons, I do want to use this opportunity to see how much of the community disagrees with me. I am not intending to run this instance as a democracy (sorry if anybody is disappointed by that), but I would still like to have a clear picture of user feedback for potentially major decisions such as this one.

But yeah, I support lemm.ee's decision as well.

I still stand by what I said yesterday about how Lemmy.world's stance is a lot better than Mastodon.social's stance. However, it's kind of a "at least they're not blatantly singing the praises of Meta joining the Fediverse," which is not a terribly high bar to clear. Also, that at the very least they paid a lip service to "defederation when needed."

But when it really counts? I am not terribly sure Lemmy.world will actually do anything (hence, me tacking that 'if ever" part in the end). And as you've rightfully pointed out--even if they do something, it might already be too late.
