Well, the final proof of Eurovision being rigged (other than last year's jury vote making Sweden win) is Israel making it in.
I'm boycotting the Finals.
In 2014, Russia got 7th place, after attacking Crimea. The contest is not "rigged". Many people vote primarily based on the music, no matter how you judge that. And in case of Israel, I also assume there are people voting specifically for them.
Funny you should mention Russia while pretending that it's NOT rigged..
Russia and Belarus are both deservedly banned due to the actions of their fascist governments, but the fascist apartheid regime of Israel is behaving at least as atrociously and not only are they allowed to participate, but they were portrayed as less unpopular than they are by adding anti-boo filters and fake applause!
Guess it's only a matter of time before more US/EU allied countries with zero respect for the human rights of minorities get added to the competition and mollycoddled like Netanyahu's representatives are.
Considering there's absolutely no transparency in the voting process, I have a hard time believing it's not rigged.
Even the invasion of Crimea wasn't an attempt at genocide.
And it wasn't even that a good a song compared to some of the others that didn't get in.
People often reeeeally overestimate the representativeness of their own bubble. As a reality check, I just looked on the Youtube live comments and searched for Israel and basically all of them are positive:
Of course this can be due to the chat being moderated and some things being deleted (although there were also Free Palestine comments), but saying that there are no fans of that song / entry is just wrong.
Those are heavily moderated to be pro Israel. So is r/Eurovision.
