Alternative take: they didn't change the terms, they started enforcing the terms we already agreed to.

I'm gonna make an account anyway, for me the bigger issue was the exclusivity, I boycott Sony due that, and won't be buying any of the FF games, but I decided to make an exception for HD2, for better or worse.

Changing how the game is experienced is changing the de facto terms. But sure I agree with you it's better that the title is not exclusive.
