Many (40ish, I'd estimate) hours and I deeply regretted the endeavour at many points, especially when rushing to get it finished in time, but once I got the hang of the process, a lot of it was quite zen. It was almost like knitting, it gave me something to do with my hands.
That just sounds mind-numbing to me, I couldn't take it. But my wife is really into knitting and she even spins her own yarn, so I understand how some people would enjoy it. And you did a great job from the look of things!
Knitting was fidget-spinners for old people.
It was mindnumbing yeah — like I said above, there were many points where I regretted my choices but sunk cost fallacy kept me going. Glad I finished it in time for the event, I'd have never stuck with it without a deadline looming. I get bored easily, so once I started to get the hang of it, I was bored and itching for something new to learn. ADHD go brrrrr.
