I decided on the middle-of-the-road Technics SL-1500C.

Iโ€™m nearly done setting it up, feels great to get back into vinyl. ๐Ÿ˜Ž๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป

I've got a Mk1 SL-1500 from 1975. It's been my main table for years and I can't really imagine changing.

These new 1500Cs are different -- clearly based more on the SL-1200, but still looks like a sweet table. Hope you enjoy it!

Oh man, that's a sexy turntable! I have the Audio-Technica that is an homage to your turn table. I'd love to get the original.

I agree it got its looks from the 1200 series. Thats why iโ€™m happy it was available in white. It looks less โ€DJ-yโ€ - and fits nicely on my white Kallax shelf. Its very nice to be able to play vinyl again!

If you have an original you should think about modernizing the power supply. Those caps are well past their use by date and voltage regulation has come a long way.

I used to do this as a side gig/hobby when I was off from my main job.

I built my dream TT from 45 pounds of concrete, a destroyed 1200, carbon fiber tonearm, and a custom power supply. The motor and gimbal were still good.

Yep, I long ago recapped it.
