It's true haha, and there's a couple other quirks. Unfortunately the trending page is pretty bad (makes sense, it's just accountless YouTube) and there lack of tracking that YouTube uses on you mean you only get your subscriptions.

So if you're a YouTube explorer it can definitely limit finding new channels from the frontpage. (For me so far at least). However, the videos when you are watching something still have a mix of your subs and similar channels, so that's good enough for me for now. I also assume that it, unfortunately, probably doesn't fully support the channels (views, engagement). I'm not 100% on what the deal there is but it's worth mentioning.

Super cool project though, self-hosted solutions are always welcome and the developer seems to be quite young and enthusiastic which is always welcome.
