I had already made the fries and didn't know what to do with them. Just got whatever I had in the fridge and slapped it in a pan because I was just hungry and couldn't be bothered..

I'm not familiar with Butler. TVP is commonly sold here in supermarkets in different sizes, I usually get the strips.

Butler is the original brand that made soy curls. It sounds like your tvp strips are comparable.
