I'd love to see them then pivot to a TV show from Children onwards. Children and God-Emperor are more dialogue and political machination based (especially the latter), but that works with really well in a TV season setup.
They could do one season per novel, and leave large time gaps between each season to jump time (just like they are doing in the Foundation TV show).
That's how I envisioned it as well! If the audience is there, with Villeneuve's creative vision to helm it, it could work. And despite GEoD being probably my favorite in the series, I think Heretics and Chapterhouse would make for a better adaptation.
One of the big flaws of the Dune book series, however, is that it was never finished (at least by Frank). A TV series would have to bring closure to it, and I don't know how successful, either from an artistic point of view, that would be.
This is exactly what I have been hoping for to. Books 3–6 need time and space to breath and do the story justice.
Agreed, that would be pretty cool!
Wasn’t book 2 just people coming to Paul’s room and talking politics with him, like the whole book?
