Pro tip: be careful not to turn too fast while firing rockets. The devs said there's a known bug where your rocket collides with your mech if you're rotating a certain direction.

That direction is right. The rockets pods are on the left of the cockpit, so if you are aiming right, and the body hasn't fully turned to match your aiming circle, the rocket will fire from the left, go directly to the right, and explode on hitting the cockpit.
