Not sure if
cats + dogs ≤ 4
I read It asnot dogs ≤ 4
I guess that your ruleset comes from the mention of
including the maximum for cats and dogs
and maybe those are the only ones that are calledpets
but 🤔Yeah, I'm very confused by the "8 pets are allowed" and "4 pets are allowed", it reads to me like "You can have 8 pets as long as you have at most 4 pets" which obviously makes no sense.
It's just badly translated. In French it clearly says maximum of 4 cats and dogs, of which a maximum of 3 dogs.
My god, that's so much less stupid!
"You can have up to 8 animals, all (something) authorized species. Fish do not count toward the 8 animal limit.
"Of those 8 animals, you can have up to 4 cats and dogs, with a maximum of 3 dogs."
Both the English and French versions are on https://montreal.ca/en/topics/pet-license
So it's a trick maths question that actually requires you to know French and have seen these rules in it, seems legit
I dunno, I hadn't seen them, nor do I know french. The second "pets" covering cats and dogs was the only way I could see the statements didn't contradict.
"and these are my pet cats over here, and my working cats over there"
