It’s Fri-Yay today! What do you have planned?

We may be anonymous strangers on the internet, but we have one thing in common. We may be a world apart, but we’re here together!

Welcome to the 24 hour pledge! I’m pledging myself to not drinking today, and invite you to do the same.

Maybe you’re new to c/stopdrinking and have a hard time deciding what to do next. Maybe you’re like me and feel you need a daily commitment or maybe you’ve been sober for a long time and want to inspire others.

It doesn’t matter if you’re still hung over from a three day bender or been sober for years, if you just woke up or have already completed a sober day. For the next 24 hours, let’s not drink alcohol!

Find some peace this weekend, man. Hope it eases off a little bit for ya. And I know that feeling: things that would've set me off while I was boozing are far more tolerable through the lense of a clear mind. Have a damn wonderful weekend!

Hey thanks! It’ll be a busy one this weekend too but for better reasons. I’m heading out to Tokyo for a couple week vacation on Wednesday so I gotta get stuff sorted for that. But I’m really looking forward to disconnecting from work and all that other life stuff and just enjoying a nice time with the wife. Actually, this will be my first vacation since… maybe since I turned 21 that I won’t be drinking on so it should be interesting. Will report back.

Goodness, man! What a head change that's gonna be! I hope you find ways to enjoy the world with your sobriety intact! I'm finding some sober things are really hard to do. Pretty personal, so I won't tell the tale, but last night was really, really close for me. I had the closest brush with fuckin-up that I've had so far. But, I didn't cave in! And by the time all was said and done, I really think I'm gonna be okay at doing that particular thing sober! What a fucking massive relief!!

It's been many years since I've been on a real get outta the country kinda vacation, I truly hope you have the time of your life! Keep staying strong, and watch out for that knee while you're over there, don't think it's ready for sumo just yet, bud...

Anyways, I will not drink with ya this day!
