Mabuhay at maligayang pag-alis sa Lemmy! βοΈ
An abandoned community for the Philippines and all things Filipino! π΅π
Started out as a Reddit alternative during the blackout from Jun 12-21, 2023 with over 1k members in just a few days. Fizzled faster than the "I Didn't Do It" kid after a month until it became the internet's Centralia in less than a year.

HAHAHA! Hello there!
Mejo nakakatakot lang na baka maulit sa lemm.ee yung nangyari sa Lemmy.world.
so far sobra laki difference ng world sa ee - not sure kung updated data dito https://lemmyverse.net/
EDIT: another page to check number of users https://the-federation.info/platform/73
Mejo selfish, Iβ think, but I do hope it stays that way.
I made my account at Lemmy.world back when it was half the size of Lemm.ee, and look where it is now. But then again, as I've pointed out in a different reply, ang ganda naman kasi ng reputation ng admins ng Lemmy.world eh. They already have had experience with Mastodon.world, and it was said that they can pretty much handle the onslaught of users.
Both a good thing and a bad thing I guess, as mas maraming lumilipat. It's too early to tell if fediverse can take on reddit, but at least dumadami ung mga tao dito (based on these migrations). Hopefully ma handle ang capacity and dumamy pa ang (quality) users ng fediverse.
Yeah, it is a double-edged sword. The way I look at it, Lemmy.world is the starter town of the wider Lemmy-verse, dun talaga mag-dadagsaan ang mga newbs. Tapos, since masyado nang crowded, kakalat ang mga tao elsewhere, which on their own would grow and be known--maybe not to the extent of Lemmy.world is at present--but it's bound to happen.
I just hope that by then, there's enough of these hubs (for the lack of a better term) to take the load off Lemmy.world, that by then Lemmy (the software) is a lot better equipped in handling that load (not just users, but also activity), and finally, that these other instances have learned the lessons Lemmy.world right now is learning.
That is, I hope that
Edit: Formatting. Wala nga palang numbered list dito sa markdown ng Lemmy.
LMAO the mental image of a distraught ash ketchum not having any starter pokemon left for him dahil ang dami nyang kasama sa starter town Pallet town. Yeah, i went off on a tangent here lol
Damn! What a mental image. That's a hilarious one.
The one I had naman is a Divisoria-like Prontera na sobrang crowded, at sobrang lag, di ka na halos makagalaw. βTapos di mo na rin halos makita yung avatar mo kasi natatabunan ng kung-ano-ano.
